Dear contributors to the recent ILCH Symposium

By Lady Rojas Benavente

We wish to warmly thank each of you for having given us the chance of meeting in Jujuy, the birthplace of Juana Manuela Gorriti, an Argentine writer who was born in the mountains of the North-East and transcended her own country by contributing to the culture in Peru and Latin America. This region - which earlier belonged to the Inca Empire, and later on to the Alto Perú - was the birthplace of Juana Alcira Arancibia , an untiring organizer in the field of Hispanic letters, stirring academicians of the entire continent into debates on the research carried out, exchanging viewpoints on subjects concerning various disciplines and creating a network for contact with colleagues and students at various levels and from many countries, for art work and scientific work to flourish all over America and Europe.
Each ILCH enterprise is a challenge and each year there are specific difficulties and demands to be met. We believe that the Project for the Sympossium which has just taken place has reached its target due to the efforts from the directing board and your own cooperation in submitting your own essay or creative contribution at the right place, cordially answering the questions posed by the public, duly controlling the time for each speech, while the public bought books published by the ILCH and those by the authors while acknowledging each friendly move from the writers – all of which brightened the long time devoted to work.
Now the Evaluating Committee is starting evaluation of the works submitted so as to ensure that they are in keeping with the academic requirements from Alba de America magazine. This means that when you receive an evalution, you are required to make the suggested corrections so as to smooth the work of the people engaged in the publication process.
At the same time, programming the Sympossium for 2010 is beginning, taking into consideration the Independence anniversary of several countries.
We wish to thank you warmly, trusting that in the near future we may be working together with other colleagues just as charming and encouraging.
Hoping that the academic year just beginning may be fruitful,
Yours very truly,
Lady Rojas Benavente, Coordinator to the Editorial Board of Alba de America.
